Susan Awdishu, MSc.Ex, MSc.PT, was born and raised in Toronto, Canada, and relocated to Los Angeles in 2017. From an early age, she was actively involved in a variety of sports, with a primary focus on soccer throughout her high school and university years. A commitment to exercise and a healthy lifestyle has been a foundational element of her personal and professional development. Her extensive participation in competitive soccer, which began at the age of seven, eventually led to regular visits to a physical therapist, experiences that solidified her decision to pursue a career in the field.
Susan commenced her academic journey at the University of Toronto, where she graduated with high honors, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. She continued her studies with a Master’s degree in Exercise Science and Physiology, where her research, funded by the U.S. military, resulted in several published works exploring the interactions between high-intensity exercise, nutrition, and hormonal responses.
Subsequently, Susan earned her degree in Physical Therapy, once again graduating with high honors. Since 2010, she has practiced as a licensed Physical Therapist, specializing in orthopedic injuries within private practice settings. Dedicated to professional growth, she has obtained advanced certifications in manual therapy, functional movement assessment, and instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization.
Her clinical expertise and ongoing advanced training have led her to serve as a medical provider at high-profile sporting events, including the FIFA Women’s World Cup and Men’s National Field Hockey competitions. Additionally, she has contributed to the profession as a national examiner for the Physiotherapy Licensing Board for several years.
Susan Asad is the owner and founder of Revive Physical Therapy, a practice born out of her commitment to providing high quality and personalized care. Having experienced the limitations of traditional, insurance-based physical therapy firsthand, both as a clinician and a patient, Susan recognized a critical need for a more effective and patient-centered model of care. Determined to redefine the rehabilitation experience, she established Revive Physical Therapy as a space where clients receive dedicated one-on-one attention from their physical therapist, free from the constraints typically imposed by insurance providers. Her vision is rooted in empowering patients through individualized treatment plans, evidence-based techniques, and a holistic approach that prioritizes long-term outcomes over short-term fixes.
